Match Preview – Dagenham & Redbridge (H) – Enterprise National League South

City will look to build on the thrilling midweek win at Slough Town on Saturday when Dagenham & Redbridge are the visitors to Cannon Clark Stadium @ Twerton Park.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

Saturday will be the first league clash between the two since April 1996, when goals from Dominic Crookes and Ian Stringfellow were enough to give the Daggers a 2-0 Easter Monday win at Twerton. This was just two weeks after City had won 1-0 at Dagenham with Graham Withey on target. Dagenham were relegated that season but by 2010 found themselves in League One. They lasted a year at that level, and met City in November 2011 in the FA Cup 1st Round. A 1-1 draw at Victoria Road meant a replay at Twerton for a televised tie. Adam Connolly’s spectacular strike for the Romans cancelled out Brian Woodall’s header, but an extra-time brace from Jon Nurse proved enough for the higher division visitors. City haven’t played at that stage of the competition since.

TRIVIA

  • The last meeting was played three days after Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners at Chelsea, a game where Andy Carroll was excluded from the Reds’ line-up. The former £35m striker should figure this weekend for Dagenham, he’s netted in their last two away games.
  • Kieran Parselle will be unavailable through suspension. It’ll be the first time he’s not started a match since last December’s 1-0 loss at Welling under Lee Kendall.

FORM

  • Bath City netted three in a league game for the first time this season on Tuesday, also their first win away from a losing position in NLS since March 2023.
  • Dagenham have lost one game in six following Tuesday’s win over Eastbourne. Three of their seven away league matches have ended goalless.
