Although I've registered on the Bath forum, it won't let me log on to post this message. Could you post it on my behalf please - preferably this week as I registered on the Eastleigh forum w/c 18th January to post a similar message for our match on the 23rd January and still haven't received the confirmation...

"For any City supporters coming on Saturday with a bit of time to spare pre-match, instead of having some intellectually stimulating pre-match conversation in the Conservative Club, may I draw your attention to the fact that the Maidenhead Heritage Centre in Park Street (one minutes walk from the ground) is current staging an exhibition on Maidenhead United FC and all are welcome to visit. The history of the club is traced from its formation to the present day and there are a wide range of exhibits on display dating back to 1893. The Heritage Centre is open from 10am to 4pm and admission is free."

PS: Our pitch is like a stodgy pudding at present, so any bad weather this week will seriously affect the chances of the game going ahead.

ILC, get those Saltpot tables up pronto... as The Winning(?) Pineapple has requested.

We love playing Maidenhead when the pitch is a pond :laughing1:

A fine idea to go somewhere other than that Conservative club with the virulently racist bar steward.

Many of us won't be seen dead in the Conservative Club.

I will certainly go to the exhibition before enjoying real ale and honey roast peanuts in The Greyhound.

Please let us know how the state of the ground is on Friday.

ive not been to maidenhead"s ground before but im going up on saturday, is the phrase "conservative club" the"re clubhouse :dontknow:

Don't think so...there is a conservative club...the steward told one of our stewalts last time that he didn't support Maidenhead because," of all the blacks they have playing for them who don't live round here." Welcome to the 21 century, eh?

I guess you are travelling by first pink bus.

The Conservative Club is just outside the ground, doesn't look or sound inviting. We met in the Greyhound before the FA Trophy game (we lost :crybaby:

but had chances to win) so I guess the same pre match arrangements this time after the visit to the exhibition.

The majority of us went in the Wetherspoons before the game, that's less than five minutes from the ground from memory.

To be honest I was just looking for somewhere to stay warm as I was still recovering from flu when we played them in the Trophy. A bad day all round.

When we played skittles at the Salisbury Conservative club in Bath, I thought most of its members were actually dead. Maybe we could take Simmo, Sido and Dougo for a pre-match drink at the Maidenhead branch.

not surprised to hear that type of comment lord bear. The people i know who go to a conservative club call black people "darkies", indians as "ragheads" and polish people as the ******* poles :angry7:

if a bath city fan makes a racist comment (and it happens) does that make all bath city fans racist?
