Unfortunately there are a few non league fans who don't conform to the conventions......Boston used to act as Dover did.

They are few are far between luckily.

The best thing we can do is get into the playoffs and then progress at their expense. They really wouldn't like that!

i was one of the city fans standing around our collection of flags in the 2nd half...
the banter side with the dover fans i thought was prety good and seemed to be all taken in good fun, but when "the real slim shady" aka... one of they"re drummer boys decided it was time to show us all his backside and then start to make the banter personal by calling some of our fans "ugly"? "fat"?.. and even going as far as picking on some guy just because he had a moustache..??
come on now slim..... was it because we were making more noise than you and you"re boyband i wonder..??.
after that game i went home and thought to myself how good for the atmosphere at twerton park and on away games if us fans got a drum to rally our team...
maybe not eh?

I don't know what you were expecting. Two set of supporters standing no more than a metre apart even Stevie Wonder could of seen what would have happened. I think people are being a bit niave if you believe it was all going to be lovey dovey of course not words were going to be said. To behonest it was lucky that nothing kicked off on the pitch because, then it could have really turned ugly no pun intended.

Well powell and I used to stand by the 3 old gits at Merthyr and they were as dyed in the wool and one eyed as they come, yet we never came remotely close to aggro.

well we"ll continue to support our club from the flag regardless of what football club visits twerton. some of the supporters have donated generous amounts of money so im informed, and we dont intend to let any visiting club"s supporters to bully us out of the way just because they"re banging a few bins for 90mins!

And i am using the word you in reference to the group as you refer to we when posting about the group in question.

There is a fine line indeed twixt the positive and negative sides of tribalism....Dover playing Newport could be "interesting".

It's ironic that you crictise the moaners who so called have ago at the players and mangement but it is you who are being called moaners by other teams supporters in the league..

indeed. unfortunately the fans would probably be segregated, which takes us back to the fgr thread a few months back!

Perhaps proponents of opposing views on the forum should be segregated if that thread returns

im 100% behind the team home and away aswell, just because others dont feel its gentlemanlike to watch a game of football whilst having banter doesnt mean we cant.
every match has banter and how many times has it 'kicked off'?
us ultras are loyal supporters who are there for the team every game and engage in banter with opposition.

whether others agree with it or not.

B) giving us HELPFULL advice
C) helping us promote the club

There were times at the Dover game when I thought it might turn nasty but luckily Frank Gallagher of Dover turned up in the nick of time to distract people from the animosity that was building up between a few rival fans. Weymouth on the other hand was really enjoyable, they took the mickey out of us, we took the mickey out of them, all good fun really Fans are bound to react differently to the increased noise and atmosphere around the ground (some people clearly hate having it back at Twerton) but I think the majority would agree that the return of an all round matchday experience has probably added 75-100 on to the gate at home games recently. Have to give out credit where it's due. This certainly wouldn't have happened without the hard work and endeavour of Paul and all of the other Ultras in bringing TP alive again. Keep it going and let's get Welling rocking!!
