My take ... We lost our main creative spark in Hoggy to Tuesday's disgraceful tackle and equally bad refereeing decision. All City's players battled 100% against a (full time I am told) team who are major contenders for promotion. Keeper and defence certainly earned their wages and right to the end we could have nicked it. Ref was dire. Crowd was slightly up on previous games and support more vocal. Other results today not too bad for us. We can make the play offs and just need another creative player to be in with a realistic chance of winning them. Great to see Coupie playing - and emphatically winning aerial challenges. Roll on next Saturday!

Sorry but i enjoyed todays game much more than the weston game. We were up against a good side today, the ref did not help us much, but i thought there were alot of different battles going on all over the pitch, an entertaining 0 0 draw for me, but we all see it in different ways Well done too all the singers , you are tapping into modern ways too attract new fans, u tube etc ticks the boxes with the younger folk, i was stood in my usual spot and felt that your support rubbed off on some around by the tea bar and the passion was noticeable. The players came across at the end and they looked as though they appreciated the efforts.

I thought we battled hard today against strong opposition.
Dover were a strong, physical side, the kind of which we have struggled against in recent times.
My only gripe was that we gave the ball away too much.

Yes, we would probably have lost this one if played 12 months ago.

Dover's position, like ours, is maybe a little deceiving. I think they are better than their league position suggests and are simply their due to a bad run. We are where we are due to a very poor start to the season.
I think Dover played OK today, as did we. Both teams have done better in past games, but likewise both have done far worse. It was a hard fought performance.
Couldn't believe some of the negativity shown on this thread earlier.

We could have lost by 2 goals, we could have nicked it, point gained not 2 lost for me

It certanly was not as bad as the Lewes or Eastleigh games, but not as good as the home performances against Woking and Newport.

Pretty much outplayed in every department, Robinson earned his wages today with three good stops with his feet and a good save late on, all we had to show was Mohamed's effort in the first half when Edwards really should of finished the move off, one good penalty shout in the second half and a half chance to Mohamed late on.We offered no threats down either wing, Simpson was as poor today as he was excellent against Weston And Connolly obviously out of position wide left we missed Hoggy out ther and even more Evans! I think Dover substituted both full backs and bought on more attacking options as we offered so little down the wings. When we were under the cosh for long periods in the second half we had a few breaks but we were so so slow getting men forward it was usually the pacy Mohamed left up front but it took him so long to bring the ball under control and get moving the threat was nullified.Harris tackled and battled well in midfield but his distribution has not improved, I enjoyed the Weston game but the majority of people claim it was a poor performance so that makes it over two months since a really decent home performance. I watched Stewart Douglas having a little training session on the pitch after the game and he was really blowing hard and it looked as though as one of the coaching staff had a word with him regarding his fitness level.

Dover reminded me very much of what Hampton were last season. Hard, physical, well organised but not a great footballing side. Well equped for this league though. Backs to the wall performace for much of the game which shows where we need to improve.

If Kaid had actually passed it to him, I would agree. But in my eyes it seemed to be a poor shot which Daz couldn't get even close to, even having run 60 yards to catch up with Kaid.

It certainly wasn't the worst game of the season. Lewes, Hampton & Richmond, Eastleigh and maybe Worcester were worse. We always struggle against teams like Dover who were big, physical and played route one football. It is doubly difficult if the referee affords us no protection. There are positives to take out of yesterday. We battled for a point in a game we would have lost in the past, Dover did not pull any further away from us in the race for the play-offs and we kept our third league clean sheet in a row-the first time we have achieved that since August 2007! There are things that need addressing though-No impact players on the bench, no cutting edge with Hoggy absent, Connolly ineffective out on the left, Sekani as poor as he was good on Tuesday. I would hope that Adie will not put Connolly out left again, he is much more of a threat through the centre. I would hope that he recalls Evans, either to start on the left or to be used as an impact player from the bench.
