I've been discussing with Sean trying something new to augment the live updates he provides so kindly for everyone.
I've gotten into Twitter a bit because of the blog, and American soccer teams use Twitter the way we use Sean's updates. The difference is everyone can chip in, including the folks at home. Really sophisticated users (not me) can even take photos with their phone and post links.
Here's what I've set up. If you go to
http://nedvedsnotes.blogspot.com/p/bath ... weets.html you will see a big black box (this is not the main part of my blog). Anyone anywhere in the world who sends a tweet with the tag #bathc will have their tweet show up in that box.
What does that mean? Anyone with a Twitter account can set things up so they can send a text and it show up as a tweet (show up in that box). This means after something has happened of interest anyone can send in a text saying what they saw happened, and everyone can see it. People with iphones (not me) at the game can see what the online folks are saying, or asking, if they send in Tweets. It won't be regulated. Just a free-for-all.
If you don't have twitter but want to join in go to twitter.com. If you have a twitter account test START to 86444 and follow the instructions. If you don't want to join twitter you will still be able to follow the tweets as they come in.
By the way, this is not to replace the great work Sean does. I'll send a few tweets from the ground today, but don't rely on my for the difinitive news that he gives. This is just a bit of fun on the side. If it doesn't work, we can just bin it. If you like it, I can give you the code so you can put the box anywhere.
Get tweeting!
