I've been discussing with Sean trying something new to augment the live updates he provides so kindly for everyone.

I've gotten into Twitter a bit because of the blog, and American soccer teams use Twitter the way we use Sean's updates. The difference is everyone can chip in, including the folks at home. Really sophisticated users (not me) can even take photos with their phone and post links.

Here's what I've set up. If you go to http://nedvedsnotes.blogspot.com/p/bath ... weets.html you will see a big black box (this is not the main part of my blog). Anyone anywhere in the world who sends a tweet with the tag #bathc will have their tweet show up in that box.

What does that mean? Anyone with a Twitter account can set things up so they can send a text and it show up as a tweet (show up in that box). This means after something has happened of interest anyone can send in a text saying what they saw happened, and everyone can see it. People with iphones (not me) at the game can see what the online folks are saying, or asking, if they send in Tweets. It won't be regulated. Just a free-for-all.

If you don't have twitter but want to join in go to twitter.com. If you have a twitter account test START to 86444 and follow the instructions. If you don't want to join twitter you will still be able to follow the tweets as they come in.

By the way, this is not to replace the great work Sean does. I'll send a few tweets from the ground today, but don't rely on my for the difinitive news that he gives. This is just a bit of fun on the side. If it doesn't work, we can just bin it. If you like it, I can give you the code so you can put the box anywhere.

Get tweeting!

Great idea...definately one to mention at the Saturday morning stall...kids still undecided about coming down might start looking into the club a bit more...very modern to say we're on facebook and twitter!! I've done a test from the computer and will have a go at posting from the mobile from 3 today...

PS - on a completely different topic can we pleaseeeeee not be the pigs!!! Surely its much easier and less humiliating to explain to kids why we're the Romans/Hot Springs/anything...but not the pigs! They're sooo last year!! :)

I see what is I think your tweet. That's great!

If you are reading this and have no idea what it's about, and you are following the game on your computer just go here during the match and read some updates: http://nedvedsnotes.blogspot.com/p/bath ... weets.html

If you get twitter and are going to be at the match (or want to join in at home) make sure you use the #bathc hash tag.

PS I'm not pushing the pig so much as pushing something commercial exploitable and enticing for small children. I don't think a roman is going to do it. A penguin might, or a zebra (but would be hard to get a suit). Let's discuss - maybe on a different thread.

I see the Dover Forum has us down as 'Never to be Forgiven FC'. Grudges or what!

Looks like it worked well today...apart from me forgetting to write onto it...!!

Really simple for people to use...google twitter or visit twitter.com...

...in the search on the home page type in #bathc and hit return...

...it will come up with the page which today has some great updates from Nedved...no need to be a member

...unfortunately there are some questions from others but on my phone I cant read the page, only post to it...dont know if this applies to others...in that case we cant see the questions or what anyone else is writing...so it may repeat itself a lot.

Anyway looks like a good idea...:)

I'll write more about this later, but if it looks like a goer I'd like to incorporate it into Sean's update page (if he agrees) so that they could both work in parrallel.

Well said Chris. I too struggle with the technology. Oh for those saturday nights standing outside the paper shop in Weston village waiting for the Chronicle van to deliver the Pink 'Un

Not exactly a Luddite, as I enjoy email, fans forum, even dabble with Facebook, but you can have too much of a good thing.
At our church home group this week someone piped up that anyone over 25 on Facebook needs to get a life. I quickly changed the topic back to our study at that point!

I used to collect the Pink Un on my bike when working for Ted Parfitt's which was a wooden shack paper shop opposite the PC World trading estate entrance. As I cycled towards the Twerton Arch with my consignment I was often met by an excited mob who followed me along the Lower Bristol Road to the paper shop. I know how Eric Cantona must have felt when he visited us recently.
